This is a blog of Kyle Henderson’s Sabbatical from May – Aug of 2008. Kyle is the pastor of First Baptist Church, Athens (www.lovingtheworld.com). The first stage of the journey was an immersion cultural studies class on African Culture presented at Tangaza College in Nairobi (Maryknoll Institute of African Studies, MIASMU). The second stage was a period of writing and service in Ethiopia in conjunction with Buckner (www.Buckner.org). The last stage was family vacation in Tanzania ending with an attempt on the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

I Loved the interest you showed in understanding the African Culture.
May your acquaintances catch the spirit too. it’s the best way to go. quite unlike the colonialists approach. As if we were in total darkness.
